1. Purpose and scope#
WAM brings Artists and Contractors together to showcase their work, publish calls for artists, communicate and engage. These Guidelines apply to profiles, posts, images, audio, video, calls for artists, applications, chats, reviews, contracts, files, signatures and any conduct related to the Platform, including outside it where it creates a direct risk to the community or to an engagement started on WAM.
The aim is to protect safety, authenticity, artistic freedom, professional treatment and people's rights. The Guidelines apply together with the Terms and the law.
2. Identity and authenticity#
Users must use true and up-to-date information. It is prohibited to:
- impersonate a person, ensemble, organization or representative;
- falsify identity, experience, awards, availability, documents, signatures or authorizations;
- create accounts to evade a suspension;
- buy or sell accounts;
- manipulate reviews, applications or interactions; and
- claim other people's works, performances or representation as one's own.
Stage names are allowed, but WAM may privately require legal identity to verify the profile and enable contracting.
Documents, selfies and verification data must belong to the User or the identified authorized representative. It is prohibited to upload someone else's documents, or manipulated, expired or unlawfully obtained documents, to try to deceive the review team, or to pressure another person to get past the checks. A lack of public presence on the internet is not a violation, and the User may provide context or request a new review.
3. Respect and equality#
Harassment, bullying, threats, humiliation, blackmail, stalking and unsolicited sexual contact are not allowed. Nor is content or conduct that attacks, excludes or incites hatred or violence against a person or group on the basis of race, color, origin, nationality, ancestry, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, health status or any other protected characteristic.
Calls for artists may require artistic skills objectively related to the role (for example, voice type or range), but must not introduce unlawful discriminatory conditions.
4. Safety and exploitation#
It is prohibited to:
- threaten, promote or celebrate real-world violence;
- organize exploitation, trafficking, forced labor or abusive conditions;
- request sexual favors in exchange for auditions, contracts, payments or visibility;
- publish child sexual abuse or exploitation material, sexualize minors or attempt to contact them through WAM;
- disclose addresses, documents, phone numbers or other private data without authorization;
- promote self-harm; or
- use events, auditions or contracts to put another person in danger.
In case of immediate danger, contact emergency services or local authorities first. WAM is not an emergency service.
5. Fraud and deceptive practices#
The following are not allowed:
- requesting money, advances or financial data through deception;
- publishing non-existent jobs, events, budgets or conditions;
- concealing who is hiring or the essential terms;
- sending phishing links, malware or harmful files;
- unauthorized spam or mass or automated solicitation;
- presenting WAM as a guarantor, payment intermediary or holder of funds (in this version WAM does not process payments);
- using other people's identities or payment methods; or
- offering unlawful services or mechanisms to evade sanctions, taxes or legal obligations.
Because payments between Artists and Contractors are made outside WAM, be wary of urgent requests for money, sudden changes of bank details and requests to pay third parties. Never share passwords, verification codes or full card details through the chat.
6. Sexual content and nudity#
WAM is a professional artistic platform, not a sexual content service. Pornography, sexual services, explicit nudity for sexual purposes, non-consensual sexual requests and any intimate content shared without consent are prohibited.
Sensitive content with an artistic, documentary or educational purpose must have the necessary rights and consents, and WAM may limit its visibility or remove it when necessary for safety or for distribution of the app.
7. Intellectual property, image and music#
Only your own or authorized content should be published. Users must hold the rights or licenses to the composition, recording, performance, photograph, video, image, trademarks and third-party materials.
Copying, offering, recording, broadcasting, reusing or monetizing works and performances without authorization is prohibited. Engaging a performance does not automatically grant recording, reproduction, synchronization, public communication or promotional use rights.
Intellectual property complaints must be sent to [email protected] and include the complainant's identification, the protected work, the exact location of the material, the grounds, contact details and a good-faith statement. WAM may request proof of ownership, remove content as a precaution and allow the affected User to respond.
8. Privacy and confidentiality#
Identity documents, private contracts, bank details, addresses, conversations or tax information of another person must not be published without a legal basis and authorization. Contractors must use applicants' profiles only to assess the relevant call for artists.
Users should limit the data included in chats and contracts to what is necessary.
9. Calls for artists and applications#
Calls for artists must truthfully state the title, role, location, dates, requirements, budget where applicable and status, and must be closed when they no longer accept applications.
Fake auditions, hidden conditions, unlawful discrimination, charging to apply and using profiles for unauthorized commercial lists are prohibited. Artists must not submit duplicate applications, misrepresent their availability or send abusive messages.
10. Contracts and signatures#
The parties must negotiate in good faith, read the full version and use correct data. It is prohibited to forge signatures, unlawfully pressure someone to sign, alter a signed PDF, upload malicious files or mark as completed a contract whose performance did not take place. No rule prevents anyone from going to the authorities, exercising consumer rights or reporting a crime.
11. Reviews and reputation#
Reviews can only be left on completed contracts and must be based on a real experience, be relevant and distinguish facts from opinions. Extorting with a review, coordinating fake ratings, revealing private data or making unfounded accusations of crimes is not allowed.
WAM may remove irrelevant, fraudulent or abusive reviews or those contrary to a legal order, but it will not remove criticism merely because it is negative.
12. Reports#
To report content or conduct, write to [email protected] or use the help section of the app. The report must identify:
- the content, account or contract, with a precise link or identifier;
- the rule or right allegedly infringed;
- a sufficiently substantiated explanation;
- your contact details; and
- a good-faith statement about the accuracy of the information.
WAM will acknowledge receipt where possible, assess the context and communicate a decision. It may request additional information. Manifestly false or abusive reports also breach these Guidelines.
13. Moderation and measures#
Content and conduct moderation is carried out by WAM staff. The automated public presence search that accompanies verification (described in the Privacy Policy) only supports the authenticity review: it does not replace the human decision and is not used to infer sensitive traits, solvency, background or professional quality.
Depending on severity, context, risk and history, WAM may:
- issue a warning or request a correction;
- limit reach or features;
- remove content;
- close or remove a call for artists;
- block a contract on the Platform;
- temporarily suspend an account;
- close an account; or
- preserve evidence and report it to authorities where there is a legal obligation or serious risk.
The measures need not be applied in that order. Immediate risks, fraud, exploitation, threats, forgery or repeated violations may justify direct action.
14. Statement of reasons and review#
Unless prevented by law, an investigation, safety or the rights of third parties, WAM will inform the affected User of:
- the content or conduct that led to the measure;
- the rule applied;
- the main facts considered; and
- how to request a review.
The review request must be sent to [email protected] within six months of notification of the measure, explaining the possible error and providing context or evidence. Where reasonably possible, a person other than the one who took the measure will review serious decisions. WAM will communicate the outcome and restore the content or access where appropriate.
Where the EU Digital Services Act applies to users in the European Union, WAM will maintain notice-and-action, statement-of-reasons and internal complaint mechanisms consistent with its requirements.
15. Cooperation and retention#
WAM may keep records associated with a report, even after removing the content, for as long as necessary for safety, review, legal defense or compliance with legal obligations. It will share information with authorities only on a legal basis or valid request, except in emergencies permitted by law.
16. Changes and contact#
WAM may update these Guidelines and will announce material changes. The current version and its date are available on the Platform.
